ArmInfo. In all appearances, the upcoming attempt of the USA President Donald Trump to get a deal with Vladimir Putin has all the chances to succeed. This was stated by David Shakhnazaryhan, the head of Concord Political Research Center during the discussions at Armenian Institute of International Safety and Affairs (AIISA)
" I think that this attempt will be made without any discussions on Russia bans cancekllation. And the most interesting is that Vladimir Putin will go for that, because today he needs Yalta-2 very much. And not from the point of view of future and any agreements with USA, but personally for himself to get a status of politician who could deal and who is able to carry negotiations on global issues," he mentioned.
According to the expert, this situation could hardly lead to increase of Washington interest to Southern Caucasus, which could be used by Moscow to recover previous influence in respect to whole the region, using unsettled conflicts, including the Karabakh conflict. According to the expert, this is dangerous for Georgia first.
The expert shared also his serious concerns related to the essential changes in respect to Iran, taking into consideration that IRZI is the stabilizing factor for all the region. According to expert estimates, the tension in American-Iranian relations should not impact anyway the security issues between Yerevan and Tehran,
Shakhnazaryan suppsed that within the consideration of mentioned above, the situation in the regional policy could generate some security vacuum containing sub regions at Southern Caucasus.
