ArmInfo.Amid the latest domestic political and foreign political trends, China has all chances to achieve global economic leadership, David Shahnazaryan, Chairman of the Center for Legal and Political Studies "Concord", said during the discussion at the Armenian Institute of International and Security Affairs (AIISA).
"One of the key factors suggesting such a conclusion is the recent speech of President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping at the World Economic Forum in Davos. China has the second largest economy in the world and it is consistently moving towards liberal and democratic values amid the overt protectionism of the new US President Donald Trump with respect to the local producers," he says.
The analyst thinks that such trends in the US policy demonstrate that Trump's America is returning to the times of the authoritarian-totalitarian policy. At the same time, Shahnazaryan does not think that the considerable changes in global policy are the derivatives of Trump's innovations in the US domestic political life.
He thinks that the disintegration processes in the European space are explained first of all with the European national populism, which has recently been progressing in France, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, etc. The processes in the UK that led the country to Brexit are underestimated, he said.
