ArmInfo.Armenian army is the subject  of greatest honor and proud for our citizens, living not only in Artsakh and Armenia, but also whole over the world, Vigen Sargsyan, the Armenian Minister of Defense stated at the concert dedicated to 25th anniversary of Armenian Army.

"Artsakh people legal claims for  self determination met violence and massacres of civil population. The issue of military security not only in respect to Artsakh, but also to Armenia turned more than actual and serious. During this quarter of century our army passed a huge way. Thanks to the wisdom and habits of our people, the shifts of generations began properly and continue effectively and slightly by today," the Minister stated accentuating that Armenian Army struggles for historical motherland not for territories, for national existence, not to conquer lands,  for national identity and not for the falsified history and geography. 

 "During whole recent years we actively participate in the network of  bilateral and multilateral relations.  Within the support of our  strategic partner - Russia, we continue implementing the project of  armaments completion. We formed the joint military group and joint  air defense system. We take joint efforts on delivering humanitarian  aid to Syria. Our peace maker forces together with our partners  implement different missions at several  military points  simultaneously," the minister stated.  According to the Minister,  Armenian history shows that Armenia, as a nation and as a state used  weakening  and giving up positions in the region, when quitted being  army  oriented nation. And the main carrier of this feature should be  the forming  skeleton of any army. Our youth should  deam of being  military officers," the  Minister ensured. .

According to the Minister, the combat readiness  of the army is  measured not only  by availability of weapons and armaments, but also  by the quantity of population. 

 "The Defensive capacity is preconditioned first by the efficiency  and integrity of public relations, based on the  policy system.  Hence, on this path  we should think  how to transform our army from   being the mirror of society into the school of patriots," Minister  aid. 

He accentuated also, that Armenian military industrial complex is  able and will make appropriate steps to recover the scientific  reputation of the country, to implement innovative technologies and  to become a competitive player of international markets. 

 "It is well known that we, Armenians, are peaceful people. But the  history teached us that running away from wars and disaster will not  help to avoid troubles. We want peace, but we know that we will not  be granted the peace for nothing, we have to reach it with our  military capability and readiness," Sargsyan accentuated. 

"According to the Minister, taking into consideration the policy  helad by the enemy which is an obvious threat of  aggression, it  would be very naive to hope  for peace at this stage. " we should be  not simply strong - we should be the striongest in the region," he  mentioned.
