ArmInfo. Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Chavusoglu once again urged Armenia to set up a commission of historians to study the events of early XX century, according to Turkey-based Vatan newspaper.
According to the source, Chavusoglu called for opening the archives and pointed out the need to involve "various countries' scientists in the discussions". The Turkish foreign minister blamed the supporters of Fethullah Gulen for "cooperating with Armenians against Turkey".
Earlier Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and other prominent members of the ruling Justice and Development Party have repeatedly stated that "Turkey is ready to open the archives to find out the truth about the events of 1915", urging Armenia to set up a joint commission for that. Ankara also blamed Yerevan for allegedly "ignoring the proposal".
