ArmInfo. The United States will try to forget Southern Caucasus just like they did forget Balkans, Alexander Skakov, the Coordinator of Caucasus and Central Asia Working Group of the RF Institute of Eastern Research says "The tendency of South Caucasus moving to the backyard of American interests could be observed already now. I just cannot see any facts that could support Trump's administration interest in respect to Southern Caucasus.
He is not concerned with democracy spreading, and there is no additional money for capsulation of new transportation corridors not only in USA, but everywhere in the world, and there is enough oil and gas in the world today," he accentuated.
According to Skakov's forecast the priorities of new American administration are the regions that are more interesting and important for Washington. First of all, the United States will deal with China, South-Eastern Asia, India and its environment, Middle East and Northern Africa. It is clear that this course of Washington will be fine for Russia, Turkey and Iran, and will not be so scaring for Armenia and Azerbaijan, but scares Georgia, which hoped Clinton should win.
According to the expert, today's concerns of Georgia are not related to Clinton's or Trump's personalities, being preconditioned by the freight of South Caucasus turning useless for Washington. Skakov thinks than South Caucasus needs the peace imposed by any external factor. Meanwhile, Russia cannot play that role.
