ArmInfo. It is obvious, that an attempt of Russia, Iran and Turkey is being shaped to reach trilateral agreements avoiding other regional and non-regional partners and competitors, Sergey Minasyan, the Caucasus Institute Director expressed his opinion to ArmInfo.
This conclusion could be made while analyzing the text of common statement of Russian, Iranian and Turkish Foreign Ministers on "concord arrangements, aimed to resume the political process and to stop the Syrian conflict". I think, that Moscow, Tehran and Ankara are intended to leave the United States off the board of Syrian conflict, as well as to dothe same in respect to Sunnite monarchies of the Gulf," he mentioned.
The common statement of IRI, RF and Turkey Foreign Ministers, voiced in Moscow on December 20 and published at the Russian Foreign Ministry website, reads that sides support and respect the immunity and independence of Syria, as well as the confidence that the conflict could not be solved in military way. Iran, Russia and Turkey expressed their willingness to develop and to become the guarantors for the future Agreement between Syrian Government and opposition, stating the readiness for joint struggle with ISIS and An-Nusra, separating off other groups of armed opposition.
The expert particularly stated the importance of such agreements with Iran and Turkey for Moscow, especially in respect to the situation settlement in Eastern Aleppo. Within this, he accentuated the soft response of Moscow to the assassination of Russian Ambassador in Turkey. Minasyan thinks, that the murder of Russian Ambassador Andrey Karlov could in essence be related to future tripartite agreements in respect Eastern Aleppo.
