EU Monitoring Mission increases night patrols

ArmInfo. The EU Civilian Monitoring Mission has increased the number of night patrols along the borders of Armenia. This is stated in the mission's statement on X.  "Starting from March, the mission has increased the number of night patrols along the Armenian- Azerbaijani border to enhance nighttime security and safety and relieve possible tensions. Our monitors remain committed around the clock, ensuring a continuous presence day and night," the mission's statement says.

ArmInfo. The US Congressional Caucus on Armenian Affairs, consisting of 25 lawmakers,  has sent a powerful bipartisan letter to Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Advisor Michael Walz, urging to secure the release of Armenian prisoners illegally held in Azerbaijan. Additionally, the  congressmen call for strengthening US policy safeguarding Armenia's  sovereignty and security  as part of expanded engagement  in the  South Caucasus.  The letter, led by Congressional Armenian Caucus  leaders Frank Pallone, David Valadao, Brad Sherman and Gus Bilirakis,  comes in the wake of recent  Armenia-Azerbaijan announcements about  the completion of negotiations on a draft peace agreement and the  Azerbaijani side's demands to amend the Armenian Constitution and  dismantle the OSCE Minsk Group, the Armenian National Committee of  America (ANCA) reported.

ArmInfo. The Network of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) for the Protection of the Rights of  Armenians in Artsakh has urged  the Armenian Ministry of Foreign  Affairs to immediately reconsider its position and publicly confirm  that the issue of protecting the rights, security and return of the  Armenian population of Artsakh remain a priority of the Armenian  foreign policy, regardless of Azerbaijan's unilateral illegal  actions. This is noted  in a statement received by ArmInfo from the  Network of Civil Society Organizations for the Protection of the  Rights of Armenians in response to the statement by the Armenian MFA  that after the  decree on the dissolution of Nagorno-Karabakh, the  issue has been removed from the agenda.

Lake Sevan level to lower in 2025 as compared with 2024

ArmInfo. Residents of the Vardashen hostel, whose building is currently classified as being in a state of emergency (IV category of emergency), held protests near  the Yerevan Municipality and the Government of Armenia. The living  conditions in hostel are simply unbearable and pose a direct threat  to the residents' health.  Protesters said that Yerevan Mayor Tigran  Avinyan visited the hostel nearly 2 years ago, saw the living  conditions firsthand, and promised to resolve this issue within a  year and a half, by providing the  residents with a new place to  live.
