ArmInfo.Armenia wants to be part of the European Union, and therefore wants to leave the CSTO led by  Russia - Chairman of the National Assembly of Armenia Alen Simonyan stated this during his visit to Latvia to Rus.LSM (the joint news portal of Latvian Radio and Latvian Television).

ArmInfo. The constitution states that everyone has freedom of thought, conscience, and religion. It recognizes the Armenian Apostolic Church (AAC) as the national church and preserver of national identity but also establishes separation of religious organizations and the state.

ArmInfo.The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) yesterday unanimously adopted a  report prepared by its monitoring commission on the fulfillment of the obligations undertaken by the Republic of Armenia. "Although the report generally positively assesses Armenia's fulfillment of its obligations, there is special mention of the criminal case initiated against me in May 2022," Avetik Chalabyan, coordinator of the  "Hayakve" initiative, writes on his Facebook page.

ArmInfo.This year the opening of the international film festival "Golden Apricot" will take place  without the traditional red carpet. The creative team of the film festival decided to give a new additional meaning to this ceremony, replacing the red carpet with carpets woven by local carpet weavers according to sketches by artist David Kochunts, which make up the Point of Reference collection.

ArmInfo.Statements by Armenian Security Council Secretary Armen Grigoryan about Russia's transfer of  Nagorno-Karabakh/Artsakh to Azerbaijan are an outright lie, the First Vice-Chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Konstantin Zatulin, said.

ArmInfo. Former governor of Lori region Aram Khachatryan has been appointed adviser to the Prime  Minister of Armenia. The decision, as reported by the official website of the government, was signed by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on June 26.

ArmInfo. Paris is not guided by the interests of Armenia and its people, but seeks to use Yerevan to  achieve its own opportunistic goals. In a similar way, official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, commented on the supply of weapons to Armenia by France.

ArmInfo. The statement bySecretary of the Security Council of Armenia Armen Grigoryan that  Russia handed over Karabakh to Azerbaijan is untrue. This was stated by the Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs Grigory Karasin.

ArmInfo. It is important for me to restore the reputation of my colleagues, and we will do everything  to challenge the decision in court and justify them. Former Minister of Economy of Armenia Vahan Kerobyan stated on June 26 during an interview.

ArmInfo.In a letter to Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Representative Adam Schiff (D-CA) and a bipartisan group of forty-seven of his House colleagues urged the United States to prioritize the protection of at-risk Armenian heritage sites in Artsakh during all future diplomatic engagements with Azerbaijani officials, reported the Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA).

In connection with the statement of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan on the termination of official relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Belarus, the official delegation of Armenia decided not to travel to Belarus and not to participate in the annual international competition "Slavic Bazaar 2024", which will be held in Belarus from 8 to July 18 this year. 

ArmInfo.Military-technical cooperation between Armenia and Russia decreased from 96% to less  than 10%, and this was the choice of the Russian Federation. Secretary of the RA Security Council Armen Grigoryan stated this in a conversation with journalists.

The government demonstrated overall increasing efforts compared with the previous reporting period; therefore Armenia remained on Tier 2,  the State Department's 2024 Trafficking in Persons (TIP) Report reads.
