ArmInfo.The shots and killings at the border are a continuation of the low-intensity conflict that has existed since the mid-2000s. Nothing new is happening, the border  with Azerbaijan has simply changed, which now passes in Gegharkunik  instead of Artsakh. Director of the Caucasus Institute Alexander  Iskandaryan expressed a similar opinion to ArmInfo.

ArmInfo. The current situation in the South Caucasus has been forming since the last years of the existence of the USSR. And throughout this period, at its various  stages, in particular, after the failure of Mikheil Saakashvili's  military adventure in South Ossetia in 2008, the integration of the  region with the Euro-Atlantic community continued to be the main goal  of the US regional policy.

ArmInfo. The conflict, tension between Armenia and Azerbaijan continues to be a powerful trump card in the hands of Russia. Georgian political scientist Gela Vasadze  expressed a similar opinion to ArmInfo.

ArmInfo. The US State Department did not comment on the issue related to the  non-participation of the American ambassador in the trip of foreign  diplomats to the occupied Shushi, organized by the Azerbaijani  government.

ArmInfo.French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian  and US Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken discussed the situation in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict  zone.

Head of the Turkish parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee Akif Cagatay Kilic  called the forthcoming visit of the Azerbaijani parliamentary delegation to the  Turkish-occupied Northern Cyprus (TRNC) as historic. Kilic  stated  this during a meeting with a delegation of the Azerbaijani parliament  headed by Chairman of the Milli Majlis Committee for International  Relations and Inter-parliamentary Connexions Samad Seyidov in Ankara.

ArmInfo. The Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) criticized the silence of the Armenian authorities in connection with the visits of foreign diplomats to occupied  Shushi, organized by the Azerbaijani authorities at the end of last week.

ArmInfo.On the initiative of the French side, a telephone conversation took place between Russian leader Vladimir Putin and French President Emmanuel Macron.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Andrei Rudenko and Deputy Secretary General of the European Foreign Service for Political  Affairs Enrique Mora, during the meeting on July 2, substantively  discussed the situation in the CIS space, including the problems of  the Nagorno-Karabakh settlement and the course of the International  Geneva discussions on security in the Caucasus.

ArmInfo.In my opinion, Armenia and Nikol Pashinyan personally, following the results of the early parliamentary elections, may well expect a repetition of the scenario  he implemented in the spring of 2018 with respect to the then Prime  Minister Serzh Sargsyan. A similar opinion was expressed to ArmInfo  by the head of the Department of Eurasian Integration and Development  of the SCO of the Institute of CIS Countries Vladimir Evseev.

ArmInfo. Russia will do everything to restore normal relations in the region (South Caucasus, Ed. note). Russian President Vladimir Putin stated this during the  "Direct Line" referring to the issue of ensuring the security of the  residents of Nagorno-Karabakh.  At the same time, he added that the  beneficiaries of this work, of course, should be the residents of  Nagorno-Karabakh. "I would like to think that it will be so. Despite  all the difficulties that have been accumulating for decades," the  head of Russia noted.
