The National Security Service (NSS) of Armenia, in the fight against corruption and  economic crimes, will continue to work on uncovering illegal schemes that were actively used by large economic entities to avoid paying taxes. In connection with the investigation of the events from 1 to 2 March 2008 in Armenia, on June 3, a criminal case was instituted against the Minister of Defense and other persons for the violent overthrow of the constitutional order in Armenia from February 23 to March 1. ArmInfo. On June 28 the police of Armenia received an alarm that employees of the territorial agency of the Social Service of Stepanavan carry out illegal actions.  According to the press service of the police, on the same day the Police revealed that the employees of the territorial agency of the social service of Stepanavan Khalat Revatsiyan, Garnik Abovyan, Artak Kalashyan and Hrachya Sukiasyan abuse their official position. In particular, under the names of the residents of the community, which they served and without the knowledge of the latter, various social benefits were assigned to them, but their addresses did not correspond to their place of residence. Every month, forging the signatures of these citizens, the employees of the territorial agency of the social service of Stepanavan received money through the post offices, in general, appropriating about 14.640.000 AMD.  A criminal case was instituted on theft in particularly large amounts.

The Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia initiated a criminal  investigation into the illegal enrichment of a high-ranking official. The facts are revealed as a result of inspections in the restaurant complex "Yans".  As the press service of Investigative Committee of Republic of Armenia reported, the criminal case, which is in the production of the Yerevan Investigation Department, obtained data on illegal enrichment, the submission of false data in declarations or concealment of data subject to declaration.
