E-commerce has big potential in Armenia, says Deputy
CEO of Areximbank-Gazprombank Group Ruben Khachatryan.
He says that there has been an Internet boom in the
country in the last four years.
"We were the first Armenian bank to start
accepting online transfers through VISA cards. The number of Internet stores is
growing as is their turnover. As of late Apr 2013 it made up 63.074mln AMD. In
Sept- Dec 2012 it was just 13.099mln AMD, while in Jan-Apr 2013 it was already
49.975mln AMD," says Khachatryan.
"We are connecting an
average of two outlets to this service. This allows us to hope that our country
is ready for a new level of commerce," says Khachatryan.
