Prosperous Armenia Party offers revolutionary changes in Election Code

 If Prosperous Armenia Party's (PAP) proposals are included in the new Election Code, it will become a revolutionary document, says Vahan Babayan, spokesperson for the PAP Faction, told a news conference on January 19.  

He said PAP has not been invited to the discussions on the Election Code reform yet. The party will make a range of proposals, if it is invited to participate. "I have heard about some qualitative changes that, I think, may help improving the election system of Armenia," the parliamentarian said without going into details.

According to the Armenian media, the Central Electoral Commission has already drafted a new Election Code that is being discussed with various parliamentary forces now. The amendments must be passed within the year. In February, the parliament will start discussing amendments to the Election Code.
