Tbilisi. Today, on September 8, Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Gharibashvili, leaves for China, where he will attend the World Economic Forum, the so called "Summer Davos", reads a statement of the Georgian Government's press-office.
In the framework of the visit Gharibashvili will meet with Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Li Keqiang and representatives of large companies. High level bilateral meetings in Beijing and Dalian have been scheduled.
Gharibashvili's visit will finish on September 13.
The World Economic Forum (WEF) is a Swiss nonprofit foundation, based in Cologny, Geneva. Recognized by the Swiss authorities as the international institution for public-private cooperation, its mission is cited as "committed to improving the state of the world by engaging business, political, academic, and other leaders of society to shape global, regional, and industry agendas".
The Forum is best known for its annual winter meeting in Davos.
In 2007, the foundation established the Annual Meeting of the New Champions (also called Summer Davos), held annually in China, alternating between Dalian and Tianjin.
Thus year a meeting of the New Champions will be held for the ninth time. Over 1,5 thousand representatives of business, governments, research organizations and the Mass Media from over 90 countries will participate in the event.
