The ruling Justice and Development Party in Turkey and the two opposition parties in the Turkish Parliament - Republican People's Party and Nationalist Movement Party - released a statement condemning the German Bundestag's resolution on recognition of the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire in 1915.
Media outlets report that the pro-Kurdish People's Democratic Party refused to sign the statement adopted by the three parties. The statement says that the resolution adopted by the German Parliament is substantiated neither historically nor legally. "The adoption of the resolution is a mistake and it cannot help affecting the Turkey-Germany relations, harming the friendly ties between the two states," the statement says.
