Heritage and ARFD do not consider Vartan Oskanian's party to be their competitor at 2017 elections

Head of the Heritage Party Faction Zaruhi Postanjyan thinks that ex-foreign minister Vartan Oskanian's experience is not enough to make Oskanian's party a competitor for Heritage Party.   

"We know nothing about that party. Neither do we know anything about the program or course of that party. So, one should not be afraid of this political force, even if it may have connection with the second president of Armenia Robert Kocharyan," Postanjyan has told ArmInfo's correspondent. At the same time, Postanjyan thinks that creation of the new political force may have a positive effect on the political field of the country, because it will contribute to pluralism.      

For his part, Head of the ARF Dashnaktsutyun Faction Armen Rustamyan wishes good luck to Oskanian and hopes that his party will contribute to development of the political field of the country. He says that he does not consider that party as a competitor for ARFD. "The political field of Armenia is glutted with politicians, however I respect Oskanian's path and Oskanian as a political and public figure," he says. 

To note, after leaving Prosperous Armenia Party, Oskanian initiated a new political force. Some representatives of the Prosperous Armenia Party who disagree with its current policy will probably join Oskanian's party. It is widely rumored that the second president of Armenia Robert Kocharyan will supervise the party.  Oskanian told reporters he does not reject his cooperation with Kocharyan, but he is going to enlist the support of voters through his own political force and political program.
