ArmInfo.The United States and Armenia will sign a Memorandum of Understanding on strategic cooperation in civil nuclear energy on Monday.
According to Turan, Secretary of State Blinken and Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan will meet at the State Department before signing the Memorandum. No additional details are given. The United States signed a similar document with a number of countries to cooperate in the field of nuclear energy and strengthen diplomatic and economic relations.
Nuclear Memorandums of Understanding are diplomatic mechanisms that strengthen and expand strategic ties between the United States and a partner country, providing a framework for cooperation on civilian nuclear energy issues and for interaction between experts from government, industry, national laboratories, and academic institutions.
As ArmInfo previously reported, on April 2-6, the RA Foreign Minister will pay a working visit to the United States, where he will take part in a meeting of the Armenian-American strategic dialogue, hold meetings with USAID Director Samantha Power, Special Assistant to the US President Amanda Sloat and with other partners. Meetings will be held with high-ranking representatives of the US Congress. During the visit, the Armenian Foreign Minister will deliver a speech at the think tank of the Atlantic Council.
