ArmInfo. On March 30, the Investigative Committee of Artsakh accepted a criminal case initiated on the fact of information published in the media on March 11, 2021 about the transfer of the map of the mined territories of Nagorno-Karabakh by the British organization" HALO Trust " to the Turkish special services, which allowed the enemy forces to successfully overcome the defensive minefields of the republic during the 44-day war.
The Artsakh IC stated that the case was initiated under part 1 of Article 310 of the NKR Criminal Code and Article 316 of the NKR Criminal Code.
The press service of the Artsakh IC stressed that the necessary investigative and procedural actions are being taken to clarify all the circumstances of the incident. The preliminary investigation continues. Earlier, the Armenian media, with reference to the representative of the President of Artsakh on special assignments Boris Avakian, disseminated information that the HALO Trust handed over maps of mined areas of Artsakh to the Turkish special services.
In turn, the British charity company HALO Trust, which is engaged in the disposal of mines and ammunition, issued a statement denying these claims. "For more than 20 years, the HALO Trust has been working in Karabakh for the safety of the local population. The HALO Trust manages to work in conflict zones around the world only because we are a non-political and neutral organization. These are absolutely false statements, " the official refutation of the organization noted.
