ArmInfo. President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev hopes that oil will protect him from the fate of Kosovo leader Hashim Thaci, who, after all these years, nevertheless, will soon appear before the Hague Tribunal for organizing war crimes and crimes against humanity committed between March 1998 and September 1999.
The fact that he shouldn't really hope for it was demonstrated by the BBC corporation -(let us note that it is not an Armenian corporation, but the world-known British semi-state media), which made it clear to the head of dynastic Azerbaijan with its questions that he was grabbed, to put it mildly, "by his neck", and now he will not manage to get rid of not only Erdogan's Turkey, which already, in fact, rules the show in his country, but also the Anglo-Saxon West, which has reserved for him a thick folder of "crimes against humanity." This folder, on occasion, can be taken out of the drawer and sent to The Hague in the same way as the "Kosovo dossier".
Although Aliyev is a "daddy's graduate" of MGIMO (Moscow State University for Foreign Affairs), he understands very well that such "righteous" questions for an interview with the world media were prepared in advance and agreed with the authorities in London for a reason. Now he is a debtor to the neoliberal West, which will blackmail the Azerbaijani "oil sheikh" until the end of his earthly stay and will not give him a single millimeter of free space for independent geopolitical and other maneuvers.
Having started a war with Artsakh and becoming a hostage of his own ambitions, promises to his own dad, as he put it in one of the tweets, as well as bloodthirsty messages from a certain radical part of the political establishment of his country, Aliyev signed his "Hague sentence" and now he will hardly be able to wash this blood. In an interview with the BBC, he not only blatantly lied to a reporter that the Armed Forces of his country had never aimed at Christian churches and never used cluster bombs against civilians, but also accused the direct witnesses of these bombings in the person of the BBC in spreading fake news.
When asked if he understands that a humanitarian catastrophe may occur in Nagorno-Karabakh this winter, and what will happen to the civilian population, Aliyev cynically stated that this is not a question for him, but for Pashinyan, as if not his troops together with Turkish partners destroyed the civil infrastructure of Artsakh cities. Moreover, he, as was typical of the leaders of the Third Reich, is ready to "take care" of them, and this is in the case that examples of such "care" for civilians, with their heads cut off and executions, are documented and well known. Just like in the "sanatoriums" for Jewish children. Aliyev went even further in his lies the whole world, since he had nowhere to go - questions were asked head-on. When a reporter asked him how it happened that a church was bombed in Nagorno-Karabakh twice a day, he said that either it was a mistake of artillery, or a provocation from the Armenian side. Realizing that he was ridiculous, Aliyev all the same admitted that "this could have happened only by mistake, because the church was not among our goals" and already deliberately impudently answered the leading question "could such a mistake be made twice in one day," he noted "Why not?". Realizing, also, that even here he went beyond the bounds of decency, Aliyev appealed to his brothers in religion for the favor, saying "they keep pigs in our mosques", although he knows very well about the mosque restored by the Armenian side in the same Shushi.
Moreover, when the reporter asked Aliyev that her colleagues had become "accidental witnesses of the shelling of an ambulance center, the destruction of a residential apartment building, the indiscriminate shelling of the city without obvious military targets and that all this was not rumors, it was seen and filmed by BBC journalists, he expressed doubts about the objectivity of this evidence: "So what? This means nothing. It could be a fake news " prepared because of a prejudiced position in relation to the conflict and because of black PR in relation to Azerbaijan." That is, you cannot be guilty of anything? "The correspondent asked him a question head-on." All accusations - distorted information. "All this information is fake news. And when asked that there is evidence of the use of cluster bombs in residential areas of Stepanakert, also documented by Human Rights Watch, there are photographs, videos and eyewitness accounts, he, not knowing how to parry, also named all of this is fake news. "That is, all this is fake news?" asked the reporter. "Of course! Why not? "He replied.
In this regard, it is worth noting one very significant nuance. The reporter did not ask him if he considers as fake news the testimony of the heads of intelligence services, including those of Western countries, that the Azerbaijani armed forces are fighting in Karabakh in tandem not only with Turkish military personnel, but also specially hired jihadists representing banned terrorist groups in Syria and Libya. The absence of this question in the interview is certainly not accidental, since he will definitely not be judged for this! The solitaire is played out, it is not difficult to solve it. Now Aliyev certainly has nowhere to run, especially back under the bosom of Russia. They won't let him, they will summon him to The Hague!
