ArmInfo.Official Yerevan commented on the report of the Russian Foreign Ministry "On the situation with the glorification of Nazism, the spread of neo-Nazism  and other practices that contribute to the escalation of modern forms  of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related  intolerance".

Thus, on May 21, during a briefing in Yerevan, Spokeswoman for the  Armenian Foreign Ministry, Anna Naghdalyan, referring to the report,  said in particular: "We are familiar with this report and would like  to stress, that, first, about 600 thousand Armenians took part in the  Great Patriotic War , and about 300 thousand did not return from this  war. A lot of Armenians were heroes of the Soviet Union. However, we  should not forget that Armenia also fought for its independent  existence with the Turks and the Caucasian Tatars and respects its  heroes who fought in these battles. Thirdly, I would like to note  that Armenia's approach to the principles of international law is a  complex one. Being a democratic country where human rights are  respected, we have legal regulations restricting the spread of any  racist and xenophobic manifestations in the country. Fourth, Armenia  is struggling with xenophobia and neo-Nazism, since it knows  firsthand about the threats that they carry because our country  suffered a lot because of such manifestations. Lastly, Armenia fights  against any manifestations of neo-Nazism in all international  platforms. "

To note, the report of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia for  the part of Armenia notes that "there have been no clear attempts to  rehabilitate Nazism, no bursts of neo-Nazi sentiment in Armenia." The  authors of the report, in particular, note that the former ruling  Republican Party of Armenia has taken steps to perpetuate the memory  of "such an ambiguous nationalist political figure like Garegin  Nzhdeh, in respect of whom there is information about cooperation  with the Third Reich."
