ArmInfo.The Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia believes that during the press  conference, the attorneys of the second RA President Robert  Kocharian, referring to the positions presented by the prosecutors  during the hearings in previous days on the issue of changing the  preventive measure against Kocharyan, tried to play on public  sentiment through various manipulations and distortions.

The statement of the Prosecutor General's Office notes: <In  particular, there were unsubstantiated statements addressed to the  prosecutor's office, absurd comments were made about the  participation of the prosecutor general in court hearings, were taken  out of context and interpreted in their own way by the prosecutor  general's and other prosecutors participating in the court  proceedings the trial - with unexplored evidence in the complex, were  published fragments of video. Thus, in essence, the right of lawyers  to exercise protection by all legal means was turned by them into the  process of spreading misinformation, misleading the public through  fraud and manipulation."

The prosecutor's office qualifies this as an unacceptable attempt to  withdraw the process from the legal framework and transfer it to the  emotional sphere, which, in addition to devaluing the trial process,  is also fraught with extremely dangerous consequences of fomenting  public sentiment. According to the prosecutor's office, this is  nothing but a form of psychological, informational pressure on the  court.  "We will not succumb to such attempts at pressure, veiled  intentions to engage the prosecutor's office in any discourses that  go beyond logic, and the prosecution will continue to strictly  fulfill its obligations under the law and the law," the General  Prosecutor's Office press service said.

The prosecutor's office notes that <if these attempts continue to  distort public opinion under the guise of organizing the defense, the  prosecution will have to take measures, if necessary, to prevent  attempts to spread and manipulate these falsifications generated by  individual media, real or fake social network users, and provide  providing the public with objective information, remaining true to  the letter of the law.
