Armenian Foreign Minister visits Notre Dame de Paris

ArmInfo. Armenian Foreign  Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, who is on a working visit to France,  visited Notre Dame de Paris, which was seriously damaged by fire.   Mnatsakanyan himself wrote about this in his microblog on Twitter.

To recall, at about 6:50pm local time, on April 15, a fire broke out  in Notre Dame de Paris. The scaffolding around the building was set  on fire first. The fire quickly spread throughout the building. Only  by the morning of April 16 was it possible to contain the fire.

The French Interior Ministry said that the cause of the fire in one  of the main attractions of Paris has not yet been established, the  authorities are conducting the proceedings. Representatives of the  French Heritage Foundation on Tuesday night, April 16, launched a  national campaign to raise funds for the restoration of one of the  main symbols of Paris. As of today, it has been announced that about  600 million euros have been allocated for this purpose.

One of the richest people in France, Francois-Henri Pinault,  executive director of Kering, which owns brands such as Gucci and  Yves Saint Laurent, has promised to transfer at least 100 million  euros for these purposes.

Notre Dame is one of the symbols of the French capital. Its  construction began in 1163 and continued intermittently until 1345.  The fame of the architectural structure contributed to the novel by  Victor Hugo, published in 1831. About 13 million people visited the  building annually. In the cathedral was kept one of the main  Christian relics - the crown of thorns of Jesus Christ, it was saved.
