ArmInfo.Armenia and Iran signed a memorandum on the exchange of information on the customs value of goods and vehicles transported across the borders of the two  states. On behalf of Armenia, the document was signed by David  Ananyan, Chairman of the State Revenue Committee of Armenia.

As the press office of the SRC reports, the Memorandum was developed  in order to correctly determine the customs value of goods and  vehicles transported between Armenia and Iran. Cooperation and mutual  support will be implemented through the exchange of data on the  customs value of goods, as well as the effective organization of  customs control over goods crossing borders. The signing of the  document will strengthen cooperation between the relevant structures  of the two countries, which will have a positive impact on the  identification of violations of customs rules and a more rapid and  effective resolution of existing problems. To stimulate bilateral  trade, more favorable conditions were created for combating evasion  from customs duties, taxes and fees.

A bilateral meeting was also held with Iranian Minister of Economy  and Finance Farhad Dejpasand, during which they discussed issues of  mutual interest, outlined possible areas of cooperation. In  particular, issues related to the increase in cargo and passenger  traffic, as well as the reconstruction of the Meghri border crossing  point with the support of UNDP were discussed. They also discussed  the details of an international conference organized jointly by SRC  and UNDP, which will discuss cross-border customs procedures, as well  as transit and trade corridors through Armenia to Iran, the EU, the  EAEU, China and India.
