OSCE Minsk Group co chairs mission is to search and find ways of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement, however, the final decision of the issue  settlement should be made by the parties, France Ambassador to Armenia Jean Francois Charpentier stated during the press conference in Yerevan on June 1.

The co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group pointed out for the first time that it was Azerbaijan that violated the ceasefire agreement and opened fire.  Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian stated this at a joint  press conference with the OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier on  May 30 in Yerevan.

ArmInfo. EU agrees with the  previous statement of OSCE MG on Karabakh settlement issue, EU  delegation head in Armenia Piotr Switalski stated today while talking  to the journalists. 

ArmInfo.In my opinion, we should expect an increase in the degree of tension on the line of contact of the opposing sides of the Karabakh conflict by the summer, the  director of the Center for Regional Studies Richard Kirakosyan believes.

ArmInfo.As long as the parties to the Karabakh conflict are allowed to check each other for strength on the lines of contact, the diplomatic round on Karabakh intends to alternate with becoming an additional tool to persuade a negotiating partner and new military charges.  Russian analyst Sergei Markedonov expressed such an opinion to ArmInfo.

ArmInfo.The OSCE MG`s addressed statement made last week is very important from the political point of view. On May 23, in Yerevan, said the head of the Defense Policy Department of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia Levon Ayvazyan in a press conference touching upon Minsk Group's last statement.

ArmInfo. The willingness to negotiate "around the exchange of territories for peace" recently voiced by Elmar Mamedyarov is a long-awaited interim solution for  Azerbaijan. An independent analyst, ex-head of the Ministry of  Foreign Affairs of Nagorno-Karabakh Arman Melikyan expressed such  opinion to ArmInfo.  The last week was characterized by a significant  increase in tension on the Karabakh-Azerbaijan contact line. 

ArmInfo.On May 20, at  the northern sector of NKR Defense Army divisons front line, Karen Danielyan (1996), an NKR Defense Army soldier, was shot down and  killed  by Azerbaijani troops .

ArmInfo. The OSCE Minsk Group on  settlement of the Nagorno- Karabakh conflict was first compelled to  recognize that the source of tension on the line of confrontation  between the armed forces of Azerbaijan and Artsakh is Baku.

ArmInfo. The Co-chairs of the  OSCE Minsk Group Igor Popov (Russia), Stefan Visconti (France) and  Richard Hoagland (USA) issued a statement in connection with the  missile attack on May 15 of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces on the  military facility of Nagorno-Karabakh.  The press service of the OSCE  told ArmInfo.

ArmInfo. Russia, as one of mediators in   Karabakh conflict settlement process, condemns the cease fire  violations at the contact line and calls both sides to undertake all  the steps necessary to cancel the further escalation in the conflict  zone. This was stated by  Maria Zakharova, the official  representative of  Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the  weekly briefing, referring to the escalation of Karabakh conflict  this week. 

ArmInfo. On the night of May 17-18, at the confrontation line of the Karabakh-Azerbaijani troops, the Azerbaijani Armed Forces from various-caliber of small arms violated the ceasefire about 60 times.

ArmInfo. Azerbaijan implements enhanced security regime in frontline contact zone settlements, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree on May 16.  The content of the rules is not divulged, and the issues noted in the order are instructed to the Government.

ArmInfo. On May 5 in the morning, contact detachments of the Artsakh Defense Army registered  the sounds of a gunfight between Azerbaijani servicemen and a grenade explosion near the settlement of Ashagi Abdurahmany, Defense Ministry press-service informs.
