Armenia and Azerbaijan ended Round 9 of the European Team Chess Championship in Warsaw in a draw (2:2). The European Team Chess Championship in Warsaw started on Nov 7 and will be over today on Nov 18.
After Round 8, the Armenian team beat the Austrian, Montenegrin, Hungarian, and Russian teams. Armenia-Bulgaria and Armenia-France games ended in draws.
Actually, the Armenian team yielded the first place to the Azerbaijani team that won European gold with 14 points. The Armenian team took the fourth place with 13 points yielding to France and Russia. A total of 38 men's teams participated in the Championship.
As for the women's team of Armenia, it took the 5th place. Ukrainian team took the gold. A total of 32 teams participated in the event.
The men's team will have to regain its title of the world champion in the World Team Chess Championship in Antalya Nov 24-Dec 6.
