The report of US Department of State on situation in Armenia corresponds to the facts, secretary of the Prosperous Armenia Party parliamentary faction, Naira Zohrabyan, told ArmInfo correspondent.
Moreover, she thinks that assessment of the situation in Armenia by the US Department of State is even soft. The corruption level is very much high in Armenia and even the results of public opinion polls initiated by the government, show that ordinary citizens watch corruption as the key challenge to the country, she said.
'The people in deadlock, not knowing how to earn, point at the corruption, first of all. This is a true tragedy. I also agree to the viewpoint according to which the society does not have an opportunity to affect the decisions adopted by the government. We see the harsh pressure imposed by the authorities upon the opponents of the pension reform, how they daunt employers and ignore the decision of the Constitutional Court", - she said.
To note, the sector about Armenia of the annual report of US Department of State on human rights 2013 draws attention at the problems of corruption, not enough transparency of activity of the government as well as at not enough independence of the legal system.
