In an interview to Turan US co-chair of OSCE Minsk Group James Warlick expressed hope for new efforts and confidence in the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process.
He said that the goal of his mission is to help the two nations to find a long-term peaceful solution.
The diplomat confessed that during his visit to the South Caucasus he saw that people on both sides want the conflict to be resolved as they know that this will bring prosperity to their region. And so, the MG co-chairs should look for ways to help the two nations to achieve this goal.
Warlick called the situation in the region dangerous and pointed out that today it is really vital to try to build mutual confidence between the two nations.
Warlick said that next week the co-chairs will come to the region with a view meet with the Azeri and Armenian presidents. He hopes that the visit will result in the presidents' decision to meet. In conclusion Warlick said that today it is necessary to take practical steps towards the final solution as this is what both nations are waiting for.
