Farmers of Armavir block off traffic again

The residents of several villages of Armavir region
have blocked off traffic on the Armavir-Gyumri road.

ArmInfo's correspondent reports from the scene that
this time the reason is that the residents of Myasnikyan, Khanjyan, Hatsik and
Lukashin villages are indignant at the procurement prices and sales level.

The protesters say that this year the apricot yield is
thrice as much as in 2012 and the private companies make advantage of the
situation and procure apricots for 50 AMD per kg.

To note, the average apricot price in the market is
300-400 AMD per kg. Earlier Karen Baghdasaryan, Head of the Project Management
Division of Spayka LLC, said that the company procured apricots for 400-500 AMD
per kg, however, he added that the prices might fall.
