ArmInfo. Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan invited Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu to Yerevan at a time convenient for him. Mirzoyan announced the invitation at a joint press conference following talks with his Kazakh counterpart in Astana.
"Our mutual visits and active contacts lay a stronger institutional foundation for our partnership, so I am pleased to invite you to visit Armenia at a time convenient for you," the Armenian Foreign Minister said.
At the same time, Mirzoyan expressed confidence that his visit to Astana provides a good opportunity to discuss progress in key areas of cooperation between the two friendly countries and the implementation of the agreements reached last year thanks to the high-level political dialogue between Yerevan and Astana.
According to him, the past year was indeed particularly dynamic: after a nearly twenty-year hiatus, mutual visits between the presidents of the two countries took place.
"During today's discussions, we naturally touched upon the trade and economic component of bilateral cooperation. We are unanimous in our opinion that the potential for bilateral trade turnover significantly exceeds current indicators. In this context, we agreed to redouble efforts to implement the Roadmap for Trade and Economic Cooperation between the governments of our countries for 2024-2025, as well as to hold the next meeting of the intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation. At the same time, we emphasized the importance of stimulating business ties using the example of the first Armenian-Kazakh business forum and the missions organized last year," the Armenian minister said.
At the same time, he pointed out the undeniable relationship between economic development and the maximum realization of regional transit potential. In this context, the interlocutors emphasized the importance and necessity of coordinating efforts to unblock regional infrastructures and effectively use transport and logistics routes.
Mirzoyan reported that other areas of bilateral cooperation were also touched upon at the meeting, including energy, high technology, innovative education, and decentralized cooperation.
"Perhaps, on the path to developing cooperation in all these areas, we especially emphasized the importance of continuing direct flights. Effective implementation of initiatives in all the mentioned areas is aimed not only at deepening mutually beneficial and strategically oriented partnership between the two countries, but also at strengthening contacts between people within the framework of mutual respect and the established friendship between our peoples. Therefore, it is no coincidence that our attention is paid to such events as holding cultural days: the Days of Armenia in Kazakhstan were held in October last year, and soon, in April, we expect to hold the Days of Kazakhstan in Armenia," the head of the Armenian Foreign Ministry said.
In conclusion, Mirzoyan expressed confidence that through joint efforts it will be possible to further develop and strengthen bilateral relations that have a strategic focus.
