Tumo Center for Creative Technologies to be established in the  capital of Kazakhstan

ArmInfo.Tumo Center for Creative Technologies will be established in the capital of  Kazakhstan.

So, according to the Armenian Foreign Ministry, on August 19-20 a  delegation of the TUMO center paid a visit to Nur-Sultan. "The  purpose of the visit is to carry out the necessary organizational  work to establish the TUMO center in Nur-Sultan," the RA MFA said in  a statement, emphasizing that during the visit the meeting of the  center's executive director with the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan  Askar Mamin and the Minister of Science and Education Rakhimkul  Aitmagambetov took place. It is also reported that on August 20 a  memorandum of understanding and cooperation was signed between TUMO  and  "Kasipkor" Holding.

Tumo Center for Creative Technologies is a training center in  Yerevan. It was founded in 2011. The center teaches people aged 12 to  18 to work in the IT field using modern technologies. <Tumo> was  originally conceived as a center of post-secondary education for  adolescents. The founder of the center was Sam Simonyan, an American  businessman of Armenian descent. The construction of the center began  in 2003 and ended in 2009-2010. The grand opening of the Tumo Center  took place on August 14, 2011 and was accompanied by a concert of  rock musicians Serge Tankyan and Dorians.

Over the first 5 years of the center's existence, more than 10  thousand people have been trained in it. In 2016, the Tumo Center for  Creative Technologies was in first place in the ranking of innovative  schools of the world compiled by the French<We demain>  magazine. In  January 2013, with the support of the Central Bank of Armenia, Tumo  opened a training program in Dilijan. In partnership with the All-Arm  Charitable Union, Tumo opened a branch in Gyumri in May 2015. In  September 2015, a branch was opened in the city of Stepanakert in  Nagorno-Karabakh.

In 2018, at the initiative of Ann Hidalgo, the Tumo School opened in  Paris. During her visit to Yerevan in January 2018, the mayor of  Paris spoke with admiration about the center, informing the president  that this year it is planned to create a center in Paris following  the example of the Armenian project, which will become another bridge  of bilateral friendship. And in September 2018, the center opened its  doors to 1,500 students.

The naming ceremony of the park, located near Alma-Atinskaya Street in the Avan  administrative district of Yerevan, took place with the participation  of the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports (MESC) of  the Republic of Armenia, Zhanna Andreasyan, and the Minister of  Culture and Information of Kazakhstan, Aida Balayeva.  A memorial  plaque in honor of Abai Kunanbayev, a renowned Kazakh poet,  representative of the educational movement, prominent figure in  literature and philosophy and founder of Kazakh literature, was  unveiled at the park during the event, the press service of the MESC  reports.
