ArmInfo. A polling station will open on June 9 in the territory of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Armenia, and all citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan who are at that moment in the territory of Armenia will be able to take part in the presidential elections in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Armenia Timur Urazayev stated this on May 27 at a press conference in Yerevan.
"A polling station will be opened in the embassy, and we are ready to accept all citizens of Kazakhstan who will find time and show a desire to take part in the elections. We know that Kazakhstani tourists have become interested in Armenia, therefore they will also be able to take part in the elections, if they are on the territory of the Republic of Armenia. The embassy is also waiting for those who have come to the Armenian capital to get cars, "the ambassador joked.
At the same time, he informed that a little more than 100 people are currently temporary or permanently registered at the Embassy of Kazakhstan, and about 11.9 million citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan will take part in the elections. The diplomat also informed that all those who have the relevant documentation will be able to conduct election observation mission.
Speaking generally about the presidential elections in Kazakhstan, scheduled for June 9, the diplomat recalled that, according to the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, elections must be organized within two months, no later.
Urazaev said that today 7 candidates, including one woman, have expressed a desire to participate in the elections. Moreover, some candidates are represented by various political circles, including non-system opposition.
In the context of a woman's nomination in the upcoming elections, Urazaev noted that Kazakhstan pays serious attention to the issue of gender equality and ensuring the participation of women in the public administration system. In this regard, he recalled that in the legislative body of Kazakhstan the representation of women is more than 25%. "This step once again demonstrates a commitment to the course of a balanced representation of women in the system of public administration", he stressed.
