The Office of the Human Rights Defender has joined the group of activists protesting against the compulsory accumulative pension system in Armenia.
After a picket near the Parliament building, the protesters moved to the Human Rights Defender's Office, whose employees told them that they were examining the deficiencies of the new law so as to appeal against it to the Constitutional Court.
From the Ombudsman's Office the protesters moved to the Government building.
They are carrying banners "Against Accumulative Pension System," "Against Compulsory Charges," and "Against Robbery at the Government Level!" and are calling on passers-by to join them and fight the reform.
Representatives of 4 opposition parties have expressed their support to the activists saying they will dispute the decision in the Constitutional Court.
Earlier today the Parliament majority killed the bill that looked to postpone the application of the compulsory accumulative pension system for a period of 1 year.
