Russian gas tariff will be reduced for Armenian consumers following the sale of the Armenian Government's 20% share in ArmRusgasprom to Gazprom, Russia, Galust Sahakyan, Head of the Republican Party of Armenia Faction in the Parliament, told reporters, Tuesday.
He could not specify the final tariff for the consumers, however. "Sale of 20% shares in ArmRusgasprom to Russia has created an opportunity for our citizens to consume gas for the same tariff as the Russian citizens do," Sahakyan said.
To recall, the Armenian Government's last 20% share in ArmRusgasprom were sold to Russia's Gazprom in the course of Vladimir Putin's visit to Armenia overnight. Actually, ArmRusgasprom is now Gazprom's subsidiary. The deal allowed Gazprom to deliver gas to Armenia on the internal Russia tariffs i.e. for $189 per 1000 cu m on the border.
Earlier, Russia increased the gas tariff for Armenia.
