Konstantin Zatoulin: Azerbaijan must agree that Nagorno Karabakh will be independent

Peaceful resolution of the Karabakh conflict requires genuine efforts. Azerbaijan must agree that Nagorno Karabakh will be independent and the territories around Nagorno Karabakh under control of its armed forces must be returned. Director of the CIS Institute Konstantin Zatoulin told reporters. 

He said that the conflict's resolution implies a package deal. There is no way out. He said that in Baku they call him a pro-Armenian politician for such statements. However, Zatoulin said, he always tells impartial truth.  

Asked about Shahumyan and Getashen regions of Nagorno Karabakh that are under occupation of Azerbaijan, the Russian political said: "if you want to settle one problem, stay out of the other."   He said that nearly the entire territory of Nagorno Karabakh is under control of Karabakh except a piece of land.
