Beeline has announced completion of digitization of the fixed network in Gandzak community. The company has also summed up the results of the fixed network modernization in 2014.
The press service of the company has told ArmInfo that during a media briefing Beeline Armenia CEO Andrey Pyatakhin informed the journalists of Beeline's achievements in development of fixed telephony and broadband internet.
In 2014, the telephone network in 16 settlements of Armenia was digitized. I addition, more than 3,500 network ports were installed along with over 1,000 new ports for broadband internet services. The company's achievements also include considerable reduction in fixed telephony tariffs. Starting from September 1, 2014, all the outgoing calls to other fixed-line numbers in Armenia, as well as the long distance calls within Beeline network and the calls to the fixed-line numbers in the NKR cost AMD 5 per minute.
"In 2014, Beeline invested big funds in the wired infrastructure, started providing superhigh-speed internet and reduced the prices of local and international calls. We do this to change our subscribers' lives for the better by minimizing the distance among them. The fixed network will still be in the focus of our attention. Moreover, we are going to tangibly increase the investments and full-scale introduction of new communication technologies next year", said Beeline Armenia CEO Andrey Pyatakhin.
To note, the index of digitization in Armenia exceeds 87% and the overall length of cable infrastructures is more than 8,500 kilometers. Beeline's fixed subscribers in Armenia make over 2 million calls daily and the broadband internet subscribers consume more than 200TB information daily.
