On September 2-3, Minsk will host the 4th sitting of the Traffic Safety Committee of the Council for Rail Transport. The South Caucasus Railway CJSC will be represented by Vladimir Khachatryan, Deputy Supervisor for Rail Traffic Safety.
Besides Armenia, representatives of the railway administrations of Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia will attend the sitting of the Committee.
The agenda of the Committee's two-day sitting includes 10 items.
The Traffic Safety Committee of the Council for Rail Transport was set up by the decision taken at the 58th sitting of the Council for Rail Transport of the CIS member States in May 2013 in Dushanbe.
The key tasks of the Committee are to implement the Council's decisions, form a single policy in international rail traffic safety, coordinate the steps ensuring traffic safety, prepare proposals for enhancing the rail traffic safety.
South Caucasus Railway CJSC is the 100% subsidiary of Russian Railway OJSC and the concessional manager of Armenian Railway CJSC under the agreement signed on 13 February 2008. The agreement was signed for 30 years and may be prolonged for 10 more years.
