Four opposition parties, Armenian National Congress (ANC), Heritage, ARFD and Prosperous Armenia, will appeal to the Cassation Court against the results of the voting on the Armenian-Russian gas agreements, he leader of the ANC parliamentary group Levon Zurabyan said.
He explained that a number of violations were committed during the voting, so, its results cannot be valid.
Earlier in the day the Armenian Parliament ratified the Armenian- Russian agreement on the terms of the purchase-sale of ArmRusgasprom's shares and the company's further activities.
77 MPs voted pro, with no votes contra and no one abstained.
Energy and Natural Resources Minister Armen Movsisyan said that signed during President Putin's visit to Yerevan on Dec 2 2013, the agreement gives Armenia's last 20% stake in ArmRusgasprom to the Russian Gazprom so as the latter can supply gas for $189 per 1,000 c m. According to the agreement, in 2014-2018 Armenia will receive 2.5bln c m a year against 1.7bln c m in 2012.
The parliamentary opposition tried to boycott the voting. MP Zaruhi Postanjyan stole the registration cards of the Republican MPs, but the speaker suggested that they could vote by raising their hands. When the voting began the opposition MPs walked out of the hall, while the journalists inside started shouting "shame." 4 of 7 members of the Counting Commission refused to confirm the vote.
A group of protesters gathered in front of the Parliament in morning, calling each MP entering the building a traitor and a slave. They are still there.
