ArmInfo. Corruption is not only a problem of individual countries, but also a transnational phenomenon, in the fight against which international cooperation is of great importance. This was stated by the Chairman of the RA Anti-Corruption Committee Artur Nahapetyan during a meeting with the Head of the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Armenia Vassilis Maragos.
As reported by the press service of the Committee, during the meeting Artur Nahapetyan emphasized the importance of the support provided by international partners, including the EU, in the formation and development of the capabilities of the RA Anti-Corruption Committee.
In turn, Vasilis Maragos pointed out the need to form strong anti-corruption institutions. He noted that various training programs continuously implemented by the EU are an important component of anti- corruption measures.
During the meeting, the interlocutors, in particular, discussed issues related to the effectiveness of the implementation of various training programs for employees of the Anti-Corruption Committee, which relate to the investigation of cases of money laundering and financial crimes, the importance of work related to requests for international mutual legal assistance. They also discussed the possibility of supporting international partners in the fight against corruption, including in developing the capabilities of the Committee's employees and introducing the latest information technologies.
The Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Committee expressed hope that the continuation of meetings and close joint work with European partners will give new impetus to cooperation between law enforcement agencies and ensure significant results in solving corruption crimes.
