ArmInfo. The issue of sending American customs and border control specialists to Armenia is being discussed. Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Armenia Paruyr Hovhannisyan told journalists on March 3.
Answering the question of why the specialists have not yet arrived in Armenia, the Deputy Minister called for taking into account the change of administration in the United States. He emphasized that the agreements reached in January of this year have not been canceled.
Speaking about the negative reaction on this issue from Tehran, the Deputy Minister assured that the issue has been agreed upon with Iran.
On January 14 in Washington, following the signing ceremony of the Charter on Strategic Partnership between Armenia and the United States, then US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken announced that a special group on customs and border security will be sent to Yerevan next week to work together to strengthen the borders. However, as reality shows, the group has not yet arrived in the country. In fact, this fact was confirmed by the Deputy Chairman of the State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Armenia, Rafael Gevorkyan, who recently reported that the group's visit had not yet taken place.
