ArmInfo.On April 8, RA Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Narek Mkrtchyan received a delegation led by Baroness Caroline Cox, the Honorary Founder President at Humanitarian Aid Relief Trust (HART). According to the press service of the Ministry, the delegation also included Sam Mason HART's CEO, David Thomas, project logistics at HART, and other distinguished guests.
During the meeting, a number of issues related to the process of supporting persons forcibly resettled from Nagorno-Karabakh were discussed. The work being carried out to improve the quality of services provided to persons with disabilities and the creation of independent living centers was also noted.
Referring to the priorities set by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs in the field of social protection, the Minister presented the process of providing support to people forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh. He spoke about the vision of the RA government to implement medium- and long-term programs aimed at providing adequate assistance to compatriots, noting that satisfying their living conditions continues to be the focus of the state's attention.
Presenting the work being carried out in the field of ensuring equal opportunities, the Minister spoke in detail about the planned steps to create independent living centers. The interlocutors also touched upon a range of issues related to services delegated by the state to older people, people with mental disorders and mental health problems. The Baroness noted that the Foundation is also ready to join the process of providing the necessary services.
Baroness Caroline Cox thanked the minister for providing comprehensive information about the programs being implemented and expressed her readiness to continue making the necessary efforts to develop cooperation.
