ArmInfo. The situation on the Armenian border continues to be tense, although one can speak of some relative stability. Speaker the RA National Assembly Alen Simonyan stated in an interview to the RA Public Television.
Nevertheless, as the Speaker noted, the situation could escalate at any moment, especially if we take into account the accumulation of manpower and equipment of the Azerbaijani armed forces, despite the cessation of skirmishes. Simonyan connected the next aggravation on the border with Baku's attempts to impose its conditions on the Armenian side. " There is a global process, during which the opposite side is trying to put pressure on the Armenian side," the speaker noted, adding that, basically, we are talking about the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh and the Lachin corridor. There is a lot of pressure on Azerbaijan from the international community, and Baku is trying to shift its attention away from the main issues with such provocations. The Speaker also did not rule out that the next hostilities unleashed by Baku may be related to the upcoming meetings of the officials of Armenia and Azerbaijan. Literally in a couple of days, a meeting will be held between the presidents of Russia and Turkey, Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan, at which the situation in the region will definitely be discussed. "There is no doubt that at this meeting decisions will be made on agreement on a number of issues related to our region," Alen Simonyan said.
He added that the President of Azerbaijan, through the actions of his armed forces, is making attempts to raise the "coast of the issue", involving in them the Turkish side as well, hoping for subsequent pressure on the Armenian side. <This is a big political game which never ends somewhere>, Alen Simonyan emphasized
Yeasterday, the armed forces of Azerbaijan launched a massive attack on the advanced units of the Armenian Armed Forces using UAVs, mortars and small arms. When repelling the attack, three Armenian soldiers were killed, two were injured.
