According to the press service of the regional administration, according to Chip Laitinen, US Ambassador to Armenia Lynne Tracy wished them to make their first visit to Armenia to Syunik, stressing that this area is a priority from the point of view of the Embassy's activates.
The US Deputy Ambassador expressed a desire to familiarize himself with the situation on the spot and understand how they can continue to support democratic and economic development, as well as learn about security issues.
Melikset Poghosyan presented the situation in the region in the post-war period, the concerns of the leadership and the population of the region, the problems they face in connection with the new situation on the border.
