The MPG consulting company (Marketing Professional Group, the exclusive representative of the International GALLUP Association in Armenia) published the results of a survey for May 18, 2021- May 21, 2021, reflecting the public's attitude to the upcoming parliamentary elections, developments in Syunik and Gegharkunik, actions of the military-political leadership of the Republic of Armenia and other topical issues.
According to director of "MPG" LLC Aram Navasardyan, according to the results of the survey, to the question "is it safe to live in Armenia?" 20.1% of the respondents answered "unequivocally safe", 20.6% believe that it is "rather safe". 27.7% of the respondents noted that it is "most likely unsafe", and 28.5% are sure that living in Armenia is "generally unsafe". Only 3.2% of respondents found it difficult to answer the question.
At the same time, 38.3% of citizens believe that in the issue of Syunik and Gegharkunik, Armenia can hope for military-political assistance from the Russian Federation and Vladimir Putin, 31.3% hope for the support of France, 23.8% - the United States, 11.4%- for the support of the Council Hope for UN security. Meanwhile, only 7.2% hope for CSTO assistance, 12.9% of respondents considered other options, and 5.2% refrained from answering.
The respondents were asked to express their attitude to the actions of officials on a 5-point scale. According to Navasardyan, all specified officials received ratings below average. In particular, acting Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan received 2.5 points, acting Defense Minister Vagharshak Harutnyan - 2.4 points, and NSS Director Armen Abazyan - 2.3 points.
Citizens also rated the activities of the following politicians on a 5-point scale. Nikol Pashinyan received 2.5 points, second president of Armenia Robert Kocharian - 2.1 points, RA President Armen Sarkissian - 2.1 points, PAP leader Gagik Tsarukyan - 1.7 points, head of the Edmon Marukyan - 1.7 points, ARF representative Ishkhan Saghatelyan -1.5 points, the same number of points was received by the 3rd President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan. Leader of the "Movement for the Sake of the Motherland" Vazgen Manukyan, first president of the Republic of Armenia Levon Ter-Petrosyan and leader of the "Fatherland" party Artur Vanetsyan received 1.4 points each. And only Ombudsman of Armenia Arman Tatoyan, as in the course of the last poll, received an assessment above average - 3 points.
