ArmInfo.According to information received from all 475 polling stations, the "My Step" bloc supported by Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, won the election to the Council of Elders of Yerevan. The Central Election Commission completed the electronic counting of votes, which showed that 294,109 voters or 81.06% of the residents of the Armenian capital who had the right to vote voted for the bloc.
According to the CEC, the "Prosperous Armenia" party was the second with the result of 6.95% or 25219 votes, the third - the "Luys" ("Light") bloc, for which 18112 voters or 4.99% of the residents of the capital of Armenia voted. According to the current legislation, at least three political forces should be represented in the Council of Elders, consisting of 65 members. Turnout in the election was only 43.65%. Thus, the comedian Hayk Marutyan, who headed the proportional list of the "My Step" bloc, automatically becomes the mayor of Yerevan, as this political force received more than 50% of the votes. He is expected to take office in mid-October.
