Vigen Sargsyan submitted two projects for public discussions within the framework of Nation-Army

ArmInfo. Vigen Sargsyan, the Defense Minister, submitted two projects for public discussions within the framework of Nation-Army .

According to him, first projects entitled "Paying Honor"  assumes the military service terms delay for students, within the purpose to give an option to complete the study process. The Minister mentioned that after completion of the university courses they will get the title  of lieutenant and will go for 3 year term military service. "The service will be arranged within the consideration of civil profession . After the service completion the national will get  bonus in the limits of the sum paid off for the whole period of study," Sargsyan mentioned.  

"We are also intended to offer military officer's job  based on  special conditions  for the strudents of 10 leading alma maters and for winners of international contests. In their cases the contract term will be 5 year instead of 3, "the Minister said

The second  project is called "This is me" and assumes 3-year Military service. According to the poroject those nationals who will express a wish   at  the bases  performing combat duty, will obtain a right to get to compulsory-contractual based service. This means that, within the 3-year term mentioned, 7 months the servicemen will be in dismissed status (starting from the sixth month of service). The service will be implemented based on 1+1+2 principle, which assumes 1 week dismissal, 1 week at the base and 2 weeks at the front line.

According to the Minister, this project will become optional - those nationals who don't wish to use this program, could serve under current terms and conditions . " However, in  the case of success, the project offered could become preferable," the Minister summarized.
