Serzh Sargsyan: Russians don`t mind Armenia signing the Association with EU, but in that case the energy supplies should be paid with global prices

ArmInfo. " Thanks to good will of both  parties, the new Framework agreement with EU does not derive from the  previous one much. The political  has no difference almost at all.  What is to economical, we should avoid contradictions with  our  liabilities related to EEU membership," Serzh Sargsyan, the President  of Armenia told Euronews channel, referring  to the new Framework  Agreement with EU. 

The question regarding was the document weakened to be accepted  by  Russia, as far as Russia objected against  any Association of Armenia  with EU or with Ukraine, the President of Armenia accentuated that "  from the very beginning of negotiations we understood that we could  have both the EU Association Agreement and  close integration wit  EEU. Russians never told us that we cannot sign such an agreement.

Answering the remark could EEU ever become an entity equal to EU,  Serzh Sargsyan mentioned: "I think it s too early to talk about  getting close to the equal level. It would be better to talk about  the cooperation between these two blocs. We prove on our  own example  that it is possible." Talking about what Armenia could offer to the  European Union (football player Mkhitaryan is a good export, but what  else?) Sargsyan said;" We have many famous people like  Mkhitaryan  and check mate gross mister  Levon Aronyan, we have Olympic  champions, but we could be useful for the European Union with our  excellent agricultural products. IT sector is also developing vary  fast in Armenia. But first of all we could be a good neighbor for  Europe. A  predictable neighbor." Answering the question is there any  option except Russia in the sector of security for Armenia, Armenian  President  mentioned: "I just met the NATO Secretary General and  invited him to visit Armenia to mark the 25th anniversary of our  successful cooperation. We see no contradictions between this  partnership and our relations with Russia," Sargsyan said. 

Answering the question where does Sargsyan lead Armenia, the  President answered: "It will be the promise land for every Armenian.  I am sure that the parliamentary model is more effective. It gives a  better options for state management and state administration. It  gives more options for nationals and society representatives to  participate in country administration. We would also like to  establish conditions ruling out those reasons for protests that are  usual for our people by now." Answering the question if his absence  in proportional list of the Ruling Republican Party means his leaving  the politics, Sargsyan mentined: "it means we take into consideration  the concerns expressed by our opposition regarding the usage of  administrative resource in electoral process. That means also we open  an opportunity for young men to express themselves in the politics.  It is already 10 years I am the leader of Republican party, and still  I am." Armenia and EU completed negotiations in respect to the  Agreement on Comprehensive Partnership. This took place during  President Serzh Sargsyan's visit to Brussels. The Agreement will be  signed in May.  Earlier Armenia rejected signing such an Agreement  versus Eurasian Integration. According to the expert opinion, Moscow  had an essential impact on this decision of Yerevan.
