Arminfo. The issue of Artsakh is not only an issue for the people of Artsakh, but for all Armenians. State Minister of Artsakh Nzhde Iskandaryan stated this to journalists on September 19 at the Yerablur military cemetery memorial complex.
According to him, three years ago on this day, the Armenians of Artsakh were subjected to Azerbaijani aggression. "We suffered losses; for the first time in the history of Artsakh, it was completely depopulated, but everyone has faith and hope of returning to their homes. Three years later, some of the Armenians of Artsakh have left Armenia, some have managed to settle here, while others are in a difficult social situation," Iskandaryan stated.
He appealed to Armenia’s political forces, expressing hope for meetings and assistance. "So far, we have met with two political forces: the Republican Party of Armenia and "Hayakve." We received a positive response, and we hope to meet with "Strong Armenia" in the near future. After the 2026 elections, I think all political forces should express their position on Artsakh, as well as on the activities of state institutions. We must rely on political forces; the issue of Artsakh is not only an issue for the authorities of Artsakh, but an issue for all Armenians," the state minister emphasized.
Responding to the current authorities’ assertions about the impossibility of the existence of a state within a state, Nzhde Iskandaryan said: "Their political course is clear to us; no one questions the necessity of the existence of a state within a state. We are talking about our rights. The issue of rights must always remain on the agenda, and it should be used, since what we are talking about also follows from the security interests of the Republic of Armenia. We see that Azerbaijan is talking about "Western Azerbaijan"; the current authorities can use this as a counterbalance, but they are merely making concessions, which is regrettable," Nzhde Iskandaryan emphasized.
