The problem of transfer of young windsurfers from Yerevan to Lake Sevan and Tsaghkadzor in the wintertime will be settled with the support of VTB Bank (Armenia). To contribute to sustainable development and enhancement of the youth's life quality, VTB Bank (Armenia) provides constant support to the mass and professional sports.
The press service of the Bank has told ArmInfo that up to 100 children join the Yerevan Sailing Club every year. There are winners of juvenile Olympic Games, World Championships, World Cups, and Championships of Russia among the Club members. The Championship of Armenia and some other contests are held on Lake Sevan on an annual basis.
The Yerevan Sailing Club was founded in January 2006. The key tasks of the Club are to popularize and develop the sailing sport in Armenia. The Club has a permanent base in Yerevan. The main base of the Club is on the shore of Lake Sevan, where not only the Club members but also the foreign guests work out.
"We are optimistic about the prospects for development of the sailing sport in Armenia. By supporting the Yerevan Sailing Club, we make our own contribution to popularization of a healthy lifestyle among youth. I am sure that the Armenian windsurfers will continue successfully taking part in international contests and that our cooperation with the Yerevan Sailing Club will be expanded", said Yuri Gusev, Director General, Chairman of the Management Board of VTB Bank (Armenia) CJSC.
VTB Bank (Armenia) joined VTB Group in April 2004 and is fully owned by VTB Group, the second biggest bank in Russia. VTB Bank (Armenia) is one of the leaders of Armenia's banking sector. It has 67 branches all over the country (the largest branch network in Armenia).
