The
Kazakh Senate ratified the treaty on Armenia's accession to the Eurasian
Economic Union (EEU) on 19 December, according to "Novosti-Kazakhstan".
The presidents of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and
Russia signed the treaty on Armenia's accession to the Eurasian Economic Union
in Minsk on October 10, 2014. National
Economy Minister of Kazakhstan Yerbolat Dossayev said Armenia will become the
EEU member from the date of the treaty's coming into force. Furthermore,
Armenia will undertake the commitments to the Eurasian Economic Union that was
established on 29 May, 2014, as well as the regulatory framework of the Customs
Union and Single Economic Space.
Earlier, Dossayev said Kazakhstan's commodity turnover
with Armenia is 7.7 million dollars. Kazakhstan is keen to boost cooperation
with Armenia in such fields as metallurgy, agriculture and construction.
The lower chamber of the Kazakh Parliament ratified
the treaty on 18 December. The document will be submitted to the ratification
of President Nursultan Nazarbayev.
