Armenian National Congress (ANC) has started a procession timed to the Human Rights Day.
ArmInfo's correspondent reports from the scene that thousands of people are participating in the procession. The demonstrators are moving towards Liberty Square along Mashtots Avenue- Amiryan Street-Nalbandyan Street-Tumanyan Street.
Head of Heritage Party Raff Hovannisian, MPs from Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) Tigran Urikhanyan, Elinar Vardanyan, Vahe Enfiajyan, Vahan Babayan are also taking part in the procession.
Head of the ANC Faction Levon Zurabyan and MP from PAP Elinar Vardanyan made speeches before the procession.
Vardanyan said that human rights in Armenia are still being violated. She suggested voicing the cases of human rights violation instead of keeping silence.
Zurabyan, in turn, said that this is already the ANC's 7th procession dedicated to human rights, however, no positive changes have been registered so far. He added that the ruling regime keeps violating the citizens' rights. Having usurped the power, the regime has monopolized the economy, seized the judicial power and is keeping all spheres of influence under control.
The ANC representative said that the nationwide movement will shortly present a roadmap specifying the steps of constitutional revolution and the schedule of the further mass events.
Artsakh war veteran Smbat Hakobyan has also joined the demonstrators. He expressed his support to the demonstrators and said that over the past few days several veterans have undergone violence, namely, Razmik Petrosyan, Manvel Yeghiazaryan and Suren Sargsyan. In this light, he urges all veterans of the Artsakh war to meet at Yerablur on December 13, at 12:00 and to discuss an action plan.
