Armenian wines of "Maran" company picked up gold medals at the XVII International Professional Wine Testing Contest of Organisation Internationale de la Vigne et du Vin (OIV) - white dry wine "Noravank" and red dry wine "Bagratuni", director of the "Maran" company, chairman of the Union of Armenian Wine Makers, Avag Harutyunmyan, told Arminfo correspondent.
He also added that "Noravank" costs 3 thsd AMD (about $7) and is exported to France and Poland, and "Batratuni" - 5500 AMD (about $14) and is sold chiefly in Armenia.
He said that more than 200 types of wine from 17 member-states of OIVwere presented at the contest in Moscow this year. Armenia is not yet a member of the OIV, but may become its member in future. For this reason, Armenia was given the right to take part in the event, he said.
